Instrumental tuition

Cornwall Learning Music (CLM) have teachers across the County who can provide expert tuition in all instruments, in any style including:

  • Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Cornet, Flugelhorn, French Horn, Tenor Horn, Euphonium/Baritone
  • Guitar: Electric, Acoustic and Bass
  • Keyboard: Electric and Piano
  • Percussion: Tuned and Untuned, Drum Kit
  • Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass
  • Voice: All vocal ranges
  • Woodwind: Recorder, Fife, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and Saxophone

There are also teachers available to provide;

  • classroom music support at all levels
  • music therapy
  • technical support

Charges for Instrumental Tuition and Classroom Support

Below are the charging rates and remission details. A sample charging letter/contract for sending to parents can be found here.

Full Charging Rates

Schools contracting 34 weeks or more over an academic year £46.30 per hour
(Recommended Pupil Rate in half hour group of four) £ 5.79 per lesson

Schools contracting less than 34 weeks or more over £48.00 per hour
an academic year
(Recommended Pupil Rate in half hour group of four) £ 6.00 per lesson

Music Centres (CLM invoice parents direct) £ 6.00 per lesson

Award Scheme Individual Lesson £ 9.00 per lesson

Remissions

At the beginning of each term, schools will be sent a form (via the information exchange system) for completion to claim reductions for instrumental lessons on invoices as detailed below. The form must be completed in full and returned by the given deadline to be included in the invoice for that term. School secretaries must witness the evidence of entitlement for the relevant allowance and may wish to keep a copy for their records. Please note that these copies do not need to be sent to Cornwall Learning Music. Reduced/free lessons are only available on one instrument.
